What is up with this year all ready? I know it isn't just my family, as I catch up with family and friends and complete strangers online via Facebook and blogs and see so many postings about being sick. First I got bronchitis, then my husband had a stomach bug, then my son started coughing and started spiking a fever, then the stomach bug hit me. Friends are sick, their kids are sick, people I don't know are sick. Good gracious! All I have to say is, let it be done with this month for the entire year! {Can I get an AMEN?!}
Thank God for a great ending to 2011. I had a wonderful Christmas with my Mom and Dad who came down from Buffalo, NY to spend the holidays with us. Such a fantastic week. And even though our home is a 1200 square foot apartment, it just felt right having them here with us. It was perfect. ☺
On top of that, my adorable son helped us to win a Kindle Fire! Yes, you read that right, a FREE Kindle Fire! Woo Hoo!! Half Off Depot was having a contest called "Share The Love" and was asking their fans to post a video talking about how much you love them so I decided, why not? I can look goofy online in front of a bunch of strangers. So I logged onto our web camera after writing up a super cheesy poem about how much I LOVE Half Off Depot and hit record. Well, Lucas had to join in on the fun. (He loves looking at himself on the computer screen.) Here is our winning entry:
Now, Lucas is only 2 and a half so believe me, there was no coaxing on my part, he was just his normal, cute self. ☺
The other good news, despite the sickness that has engulfed this house is, I just booked our free cruise today! Yay! My hubby and I are celebrating our 10-year anniversary on July 27th this year and are cruising the week of Thanksgiving on board the Monarch of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean cruise ship. It is a free cruise, thanks to all the points we racked up on our RCCL credit card. So excited! A little nervous too, as we will be leaving Lucas with my Mom this time around. (We cruised in January 2011 with him.) This is our anniversary gift to each other so we said no kids!
At any rate, I end with a few happy photos from Christmas and the New Year.
At the UT Botanical Gardens to go see the train exhibit.
At Dollywood!
All the trains, animals and Francesco are asleep!
All my "boys" playing army men.
At the park on December 31st.
Passed out with his kitty, Tubby.
Making macaroni for mommy on his kitchen play set.
Happy New Year!
Counting it all joy,
Angela
